For Tertiary Students

Student placements, RHD supervision, and internships

The VLSCI is able to assist with student research placements at all levels (undergraduate through to PhD) into life science computation research projects, including sourcing both placements and students, co-supervision of research placements, and summer internships. The LSCC engages directly in RHD supervision and cosupervision, primarily through the LSCC Head and Theme Leaders.

PhD top-up scholarships

A small number of PhD top-up scholarships are available to students primarily engaged in LSCC-related projects who have gained (or expect to gain) an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) or equivalent scholarship. LSCC Top-Up Scholarships are at a level of $5,000 p.a., and are renewable for the duration of the primary scholarship, subject to an annual review of research progress. Allocation is merit based.

Coursework programs

VLSCI experts work in with a number of course providers on topics directly related to computational biology.

Also see the scholarships and studentships page to see what courses link to opportunities made possible by VLSCI.
