Avoca has great green credentials too!

The latest Green500 List has been announced and it was good news for VLSCI's new Avoca. The Blue Gene/Q was ranked the most energy-efficient supercomputer in the world - in fact, the first 20 supercomputers on the list were all Blue Gene/Qs. The aim of the Green500 is to raise awareness about power consumption by ranking machines by "FLOPS-per-Watt". For further information visit the Green500 website.
