RAS Round 7 - opening for applications 3 April 2013
VLSCI is pleased to announce that RAS Round 7, which will run from 1 July 2013 to the 30 June 2014, will be open for applications from the 3 April 2013.
This round will coincide with upgrades to our x86 hardware, which will be announced in early June. Further details about the new resources will be available soon.
Successful Round 6 (2013) users who are content with their current allocation of resources do not need to apply for this mid-year round. Round 8 will be advertised in October for access to resources in 2014.
Existing users with active projects, who had their resource allocation capped in Round 6 to mid-2013, or had their quota capped, are encouraged to reapply for extra quota in Round 7. Existing users with inadequate disk quota may also apply for an increase in their disk quota.
New users should apply for resources in RAS Round 7.
- 3 April: RAS Round Seven call for applications opens,
- 8 May: Applications close (without exception),
- June: RAS Committee meeting outcomes advised to successful applicants,
- 1 July: Resource allocation is made available to successful projects.
You are strongly recommended to read the help page for tips on writing a successful RAS application. Please note that the application process has been revised, and applicants should read the instructions carefully.
Start-up Grants can be applied for at any time.
Researchers who do not have Victorian collaborators or do not meet the life sciences criteria may also apply for some VLSCI resources being made available through the National Computational Merit Allocation Scheme. More details can be found here.
